Be #OnHerSide

Across the world, arguments about tradition, morality, family, development and national progress often land on the bodies of women and girls. If we value birth, motherhood and newborn life, we must value the information, choices and care that protect girls and women before, during and after pregnancy.

#OnHerSide is a campaign for people and institutions willing to say that reproductive, maternal and newborn health must be visible, funded, respected and free from shame.

Being on her side is a public act.

It asks governments to fund and prioritize reproductive, maternal and newborn health.

It calls for health workers to be trained to save lives.

It encourages communities to open the conversations that stigma has kept shut.

And it asks faith leaders, young people, health workers, policymakers, mothers, fathers, partnersand each of us, to play our part.

Alongside these evergreen resources, #OnHerSide will also anchor mini social media toolkits around key awareness days, beginning with World Population Day on 11 July. Each toolkit will focus on a specific issue and provide partners, policymakers, health workers, faith leaders, youth advocates, women, mothers, male allies and communities with practical language to show what being #OnHerSide looks like in that moment.

Use these messages, graphics, toolkits and campaign materials to speak up during key moments throughout the year, and to invite others to say:

I’m #OnHerSide. Are you?
